[MC-133275] No Bubble Coloum

So i made a pre-release survival and i found magma blocks under water for my water bubble elevator but no bubbles or pushing up happens,

Is this flowing water? Bubble columns only work in water sources as far as I know.

It was the ocean and i just placed cobble all around and put two magma blocks down

Vio, I've seen players make item elevators using bubble columns with flowing water

Bubble columns can only be constructed using water sources.
Please attach the world folder to the issue.

It was flowing water so i placed a bucket of water at the block above the magma and the bubbles rose to the top
