[MC-133841] The § Symbol does not appear in text

The bug

I have tried many times to Copy Paste the § symbol into my minecraft Text to do Color Text and the § Symbol does not appear.

Still in 1.14.2, you can't paste or Alt-type it into books. Also you can't use JSON for formating the book and quill, but I'm not entirely sure with that.

Confirmed that this issue still exists in 1.15.1 and has not been resolved, despite the many duplicate issues claiming otherwise. What a shame.

It does not. MC-138046 is about formatting, this is about the paragraph character.

A note just in case the issue marked as a duplicate of this ticket is ignored:

Once this issue is fixed, please make sure that it also resolves MC-200226 so that formatting also successfully applies to Titles and Authors in books, not just the text of the book.

If it does not, then please reopen MC-200226.

Dunno if I should create a separate report for this, but in singleplayer, it not only still "kicks" you for using the symbol in chat, it only gives you the multiplayer Back to Server List button on-screen.

Also, might be relevant, I triggered it using \u00a7 in a /say command inserted in a ClickEvent in a book.

And I've also confirmed it still happens in 21w11a.
