i watched the eggs for over 3 hours, over 7 in game nights as well, and the eggs never hatched. They showed one animation of cracked after 3 or 4 nights, but never ended up hatching.
Is my 1.12 world essentially screwed in the conversion over to 1.13?

I cranked my random tick speed up to 10000 in a single player world and they did fine hatching in 1.12.2 chunks. I wonder what happened because they definitely disappeared on my server before.
My turtles wouldn't hatch for over 6 hours. I finally discovered that they only progress near the end of night, so you can't sleep or they won't ever hatch. The wiki says nothing of this and I haven't heard it from anyone else, so it's only my own experience that I am basing this on.
I still having this issue. I take the eggs from a 1.13 world (my servers mining world) and brought them to our main world (Generated in 1.12.2). The eggs hatch into nothing. I’ve tried in wilderness and in towny (towny server). We don’t sleep on the server so that is not the issue. Even in the 1.13 generated world, they hatch to nothing.
Just did this as well. My eggs "hatched" but no turtles emerged.
