I just found out that my version of JRE was 32bit, I changed it to the 64bit version and Minecraft seems to launch. It seems from your crash report that you are also using a 32bit java.
Thanks For Letting Me Know!!! I'll Try That
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/r9dRWxxZgN/ Here Is Another A Crash Report
How Do I Find How many Bits It Is And How Do I Change It?
Down where it says System details if you are running a 64bit machine and java says your machine is a 32bit one then you have 32bit java. Right here: Operating System: Linux (i386) version 4.15.0-23-generic that "i386" effectivley means you have 32bit java installed
As for installing the 64bit version of java make sure you first have a 64bit machine and look for amd64 or LinuxX64 for a 64bit version of java. I have to goto work rn so I hope you will be able to find a guide online on how to actually install java.
Good luck.
Since liblwjgl32 is not going to be supporting 32bit linux machines everyone trying to launch minecraft with 32bit java on linux will be suffering this error.
I will be back in around six hours.
Thanks I have a 64Bit System WITH a 32bit Ubuntu. I Looked Up How To Get 64Bit Ubuntu Without Loosing Data And I Can Do That THANK GOD I'll Try To Link The Websites I Used To Figure This Out For People With The Same Issue As Me. Thanks!!!
Ok Now I'm Not Sure If I Upgrade To Ubuntu 64 bit If I'll Loose Minecraft And Other Stuff. Please Tell Me! ( Just The Good News Is I can Run A 64 Bit Ubuntu! )
And What Is liblwjgl32 ???
I believe it is the main graphics library Minecraft uses to do graphics stuff like drawing the game. The library has a team of devs. maintaining it. Sadly the devs. that work on the library dropped support for 32bit linux based machines.
Well, installing a 64bit version of Ubuntu on your 64bit machine would be useful. As for doing it without losing your files. You could just backup your files on some external storage, like a flash drive. I'd reccomend looking through your home folder for things you would like to keep. Also make a list of things you would like to install or do after you install your new OS, so you don't forget any software/settings you perfer.
Are you sure you have a 32bit version of Ubuntu in the first place? You may have a 64bit version of Ubuntu, but have a 32bit version of Java. I would not reccomend updating without checking if you actually have a 32bit version Ubuntu.
use "uname -a" to check if you have a 64bit Ubuntu installation or not
I Did Check That And It is A 32 Bit Ubuntu So I'm Going To Get 64 Bit Ubuntu And I Am Going To Backup Files Just In case Oh And That's Why I Cant open It.
I get the same error at launch in debian stretch running Oracle JRE. Game fails to launch.
