By utilizing sticky pistons or normal pistons to push redstone blocks up, the redstone block powers the pistons, making it unable to go back to unpowered stage unless you break the redstone block, it only powers pistons.

This is not a duplicate, at least from a player's perspective (maybe the code is different than it seems?) MC 108 has to do with POWERING a piston, and the piston not extending until updated. This bug (which is a massive pain in the butt) happens because a piston is able to receive power through the front of its head. This breaks any machine that would push a redstone block upward.
