Basically when I move upwards or face the opposite from a destroyable block the game decides to either break the block or send "Null returned as 'hitResult', this shouldn't happen!" into the console.

However, this issue is a Duplicate of MC-79925.
It has been linked to this report.
This is a rather silly issue, especially because of the @Nullable
annotations already present there :/
If you're getting actual NullPointerExceptions
instead of just the warnings in the console, that's new behavior and I'd like to see a crash report/the log output for that; I'm not aware of that.
