Minecraft 1.13 Crash On StartUp

I loaded up Minecraft on 1.13 for the first time and it crashed.
I suspect it's to do with the fact that I use DropBox to merge the Saves folder between my Linux and Mac computers.
This relates to https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-123021 but that has been resolved as Minecraft will run on Mac w/ DropBox in the latest snapshot.
I'm not sure why but Minecraft is fine for me on 18w32a but crashes in the actual 1.13 release

That MC-123021 was fixed in 18w31a is exactly the reason why this happens to you. This bug was not yet fixed in 1.13 actual release, but it was in 18w31a. 18w32a is a newer version, so this problem doesn't exist.

So do you mean 18w31a is after the official release?
Could you explain it better because I don't really understand..
Sorry

The fix will be available in the next released version.

18w31a and 18w32a are development versions for 1.13.1. Development versions for an unreleased version are released after the previous version is released, which means 18w31a and 18w32a were released after 1.13 full version was released. This bug was not fixed in 1.13, but it was later in 18w31a. 18w32a was released later than 18w31a, so 18w32a doesn't have that problem.

And yes, as Matthew pointed out, the next full version, 1.13.1, won't have this problem as well, as it was already fixed in a development version of 1.13.1.
