Maps delete recently marked banners upon reopening world

I have consistently found that with the feature of marking banners on maps, my game seems to always delete recently made markers upon reopening my selected world with the maps. I currently have two map walls in my world, which all use 3x bigger maps, and I carry around the exact same maps with me so I can update them if needed. I don't know if any of those are the cause, but I figured I would list them. This may not be the worst bug, but I would appreciate a fix!

Was about to report the same, did some testing in 1.13:

-In my survival world, I have a large map made of many 1:2 maps. All banner markers on these consistently disappear.

-In the same world, I have a map made from 4 1:16 maps. The markers of the same banners that disappeared on the 1:2 maps do NOT disappear here.

-I created a a superflat world for testing. First tried making one map per zoom level of the same area and test it with the same banner, no markers disappeared.

-I then created another banner in the spawn chunk and tested again with the same maps (1:1 excluded, since the chunk was not included). On the 1:16 map this marker (not, however, the first one!) disappeares consistently, on all other maps it stays.

-It does not appear to make a difference wether the map is in an inventory or an item frame when unloading and reloading.

EDIT: Just tested both worlds in the latest snapshot, 18w32a, and was unable to reproduce the error with the maps that previously had had issues.

Upon experimenting I have found that this issue may be solved via replacing all previously framed maps with the new updated version of it. Because I use a copy of the map to update them, the ones in the frames automatically “update” when the copy is modified. I have found that this update does not stick unless all maps that are framed be replaced with the new modified version of the map. Its a bit of a hassle because my map walls are about 1000 blocks from each other, but it is a fix nonetheless. I have been doing this in creative mode, which may have contributed to the issue, allowing me to make exact copies of the maps used. Thank you for your help nonetheless.

Since @unknown is no longer able to reproduce this issue in the latest snapshot, please check if that's fixed for you as well.

I tested this problem in the new snapshot, and with some brief experimentation, found it to have been fixed. I did find other problems though in the snapshot, which I will post as another thread later. Thank you for your time.
