Recent banner markers on maps not displayed after re-loading

I was marking all of the ocean monuments with named banners ("Ocean Monument - Unexplored") on the map. After I had safely saved and exited I reloaded the world and the marked banners had disappeared, except for a marker ("Castle Island") that I had placed a long time ago.
Would it be because the name is too long?
