Lava in mineshaft doesn't set wood on fire

The bug

I just found it odd that not only lava that was close to wood, but lava on wood would also not set it on fire in a mineshaft on survival. I sat there for at least 3 minutes to see if it would catch but it didn't.

How to reproduce

I'm having a similar issue. I had some oak planks that were directly in contact with a burning netherrack block and the fire didn't spread. When I set fire to the planks myself, it spread fine, and when I replaced the planks, they still wouldn't set alight from the netherrack. I can only assume this is related.

Kind of, except the blocks next to it did not catch fire either. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough but it isn't something I need to pursue.

While the 1.13 behavior of fire spread from lava is not entirely consistent with 1.12, lava does not start fires in blocks at the same y level as the lava itself, regardless of whether the adjacent blocks are flammable. (Also, note that the wiki description of fire spread from lava is incomplete.)

Could you provide the seed and coordinates?

The picture didn't seem to work in the comment format but you can still see the cords and seed so it's fine. The lava source block is higher than the wood that won't start on fire, and there is more wood on the other side that is at a different y level that also doesn't catch on fire. The lava that is on the wood is also on a different y level than the wood under it. While the wood on the other side is not touching it is within a block so it should still catch on fire. There are also several other spots in the mine that have lava touching wood and they catch fire like they should.

The fence gates right next to it appear to have caught fire, something I only noticed while looking at photos. But once the fence gates are gone the lava will be 1 block from more wood on the other side and it will not catch on fire which I would normally think should light.

Can anyone confirm that this is still the case for 1.15.2 or the latest snapshot?
