In the Bedrock Edition, a possible bug (See MCPE-36793) exists where water is part of the underwater ruins’ structure. The water generates as waterlogged water inside the loot chest and another full water block sits on top of the loot chest. Go to MCPE-36793 to view an image of an underwater ruin that generated on land, which has an exposed loot chest that is waterlogged and has a single water block on it. I’m creating this issue as it probably exists in the Java Edition as well but I’ll need help from other sources. Treat this as the Java version of MCPE-36793.

Structures in the Java and Bedrock are the same, if there are any differences they would be announced as an exclusive feature for that version, like brown carpets are used as tables in villages in Bedrock Edition only. Please do not close this issue, my suggestion is to ask some Java players to find a seed to prove my statement. Is that possible? Please leave a reply, thank you very much.
I’m an editor on the Minecraft Wiki, and I asked a senior editor whether if this bug exists on Java too, and he said, “Yes I know. I'm sure it probably also happens in Java. I'm not sure whether they're going to fix it, but it'd be safe to report it and await what they say about it.” So that’s why I created this issue page, just in case it actually is a bug. Now I only can wait for a Java player to provide a valid picture or seed as proof. I hope you can understand, thank you.
Structures in the Java and Bedrock are the same
Not exactly true. Both versions have different methods of saving and loading structures in the world. In the Java Edition, blocks are set to waterlogged based on what fluid they are loaded into.

That's not how bug trackers work.
Hmm... I guess you’re right. But this still is an issue in Bedrock Edition. I’ve played a seed (not the one from the picture) that has a land ruin at spawn and also has a waterlogged loot chest and water above it. So it still can stay a bug in Bedrock Edition, right?
Yes. This MC project is for the Java Edition and MCPE is for the Bedrock Edition. The ticket in the latter project, MCPE-36793, is still open.
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.
Please provide the seed and coordinates where this issue takes place so we can reproduce the issue.
