Bookshelves don't count for Enchanting Table

If you place a Fence Gate or Trapdoor as shown on the picture the bookshelf claerly sends out particles to the Enchanting Table, assuming that it is enhancing the enschantment level - which it isn't going to do... The Fence Gate or Trapdoor aren't even blocking the line of sight towards the Bookshelf - there is AIR inbetween.
