forceupgrade causes missing chunks

I performed a forceupgrde / optimize world on my old 1.12.x world.

It caused random chunks to disappear. No errors were given so I thought everything went smoothly but when I inspected more I noticed chunks were missing.

See provided screenshot from minecraft overviewer, the chunks ARE explored in 1.12.x. and below, not sure in which exact version these chunks were explored tho.

Since the log didn't output any error, this is the only information I have.

[20:35:33] [Server thread/INFO]: 99% completed (291898 / 291987 chunks)...
[20:35:34] [pool-4-thread-1/INFO]: World optimizaton finished after 3635644 ms
[20:35:34] [pool-4-thread-1/INFO]: ThreadedAnvilChunkStorage (DIM-1): All chunks are saved
[20:35:34] [pool-4-thread-1/INFO]: ThreadedAnvilChunkStorage (world): All chunks are saved
[20:35:34] [pool-4-thread-1/INFO]: ThreadedAnvilChunkStorage (DIM1): All chunks are saved

Please do not mark unreleased versions as affected.
You don't have access to them yet.

Edited typos, probably why the bot reacted.

Please attach the entire log here.

Done, doesn't contain much more information but here it is.

I also updated one of the region files that contains chunks that doesn't get converted.

I inspected the region structure and it's not in the new format for some reason, but more than that I can't research.

Region file suggests chunks are deleted due to their LightPopulated flag (MC-133855).

Tired converting with spigot, it did get better but not perfect. So there must be something else to it aswell.

What I noticed is that I still have random holes in the map, also look at the weird generation in the swamp to the top right. That's not a border error like the one in the water, that's something else.

Well, I reran the conversion with Spigot and I got it to work.

But the errors I had can't be because of Spigot because I haven't used that. The map is quite old tho' and some parts were in *.mcr format back in the day.

Mojang should really release a 1.13.2 release that makes conversion work.

The Mojang "solution" to fly through the chunks before you convert isn't really a valid solution.

This is fixed now in 1.13.2. You may close it.
