Crash in fullscreen

This issue has been going for at least 2 years now and I thought I kind of understood the reason why, but when 1.13 came out I was confused. As the title says, everytime I go into fullscreen I crash INSTANTLY, however, on versions 1.13+ everything is normal. I've just started a clean sweep of mc (saving my options, servers, saves etc into a different folder and deleting everything) and tested 1.13 and then 1.8.9 - which I most often use - and the issue still prevails. I used to believe it was my drivers or something, but this is not the case as its only with certain versions. Here is a link to when the issue first starting happen, if you're curious, but its not necessary - https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/java-edition-support/2737789-crashes-constantly-please-read-before-posting - I am not sure if it is still my graphics drivers as I have had issues with games before and the way to resolve it is to update them, but I have contacted microsoft and even did the thing where they control my computer but my graphics drivers are definitely up to date. I am really sick of this issue as it's really frustrating and I really don't understand why this is still happening, especially because it works on 1.13 and its nothing to do with minecraft as I removed everything and nothing can be "corrupting".
