Clicking "Leave server" after dying on hardcore multiplayer does not disconnect you from the server

When you are on a server with hardcore=true, there is a bug with the "Leave server button".
How to reproduce:

  1. Die on hardcore mode enabled server.

  2. Click "Leave Sever"

  3. Go to singleplayer, multiplayer or realms menu.

  4. Hit Esc.

Expected result

You will be disconnected from the server and couldn't go back in the server without navigating the multiplayer menu.

Actual result

You will reappear on the Server death screen with the choice of leaving or spectating the world again.

This issue seem of rather small importance compared to others. But As you can see on the video, it has important consequence, if you try to join a local world, you will get strange results like the time of day going back and forth. Game logs continuously showing this error:

Error executing task on Client
java.lang.NullPointerException: null

with different stack traces, for every local world you join until you decide to reboot your game.

Is this still an issue in 19w35a or later?

This is not an issue in 19w39a.

This is also not an issue in 19w35a or later.
