The bug
If you die and respawn, the world won't load until you reload the world.

Sometimes when I reload the world it causes chunks not to load (which you can see in my video).

When I was killing my second account a couple times, it eventually exited the world for that account, but it was stuck in "Saving World..." dirt screen.

I also had this issue. I could not respawn and had to hit the respawn button several times. I managed in the end and spawned in void, that however quickly loaded the chunk. See video: https://youtu.be/q9uc5sFqrBc

After looking at some of the duplicates, the result I get from the glitch is slightly different. The chunks never reload until I save and quit, but when I save and quit my world doesn't corrupt. I've added a video showing the bug in action.
What's strange is that hostile mobs can still interact with, and kill the player while stuck in this glitched state.

Yeah I was able to pickup items and take further damage upon respawning despite me not being able to see the world. I spawned Zombies at spawn and let them attack me after killing me I respawned at spawn (no chunks loaded), I picked up rotten flesh from a burning zombie while in this state and then died a second time after taking damage. I couldn’t move however so I don’t know how mobs can path find to me but I’m not properly added to the dimension or chunk?

Had this problem as well. Respawning just loaded a screen that was blank except for the sky and the sun and the moon.

I've a solution :
Just do /tp [Username] 80 0 0
Then you need to fly. (Sorry guys playing in survival 😞)

…And if the game is not hosted locally on your computer, it is fine! me and my brother played in each other's worlds, and only the owner would have this happen to them.

Backing up what @unknown said, I was hosting and this bug only happened to me and not my clients. Also, sometimes, when the world did load but the chunks did not update correctly, or never loaded, all players in the world were completely visible to me, though I could see the changes they were making to the world.

I came across this while attempting to recreate a regression of MC-132073 (that I also accidentally found while recreating something else...). Contrary to the description, the world loads... it just doesn't render. Mobs will still attack you, you can still be pushed into pressure plates (and trigger them!), block break animations from sheep still fire, etc. You can interact with the world, just not really to a full extent.

One of my users reported this to me so I guess its not limited to the host. Also it did happen to me without dying, I just logged in, flew away from spawn and ran into chunks that wouldn't render. Then when I tried to map out the boundary I found that the entire of spawn was no longer rendering.

Similar to that, I would play in one of my brother's worlds, and I was underground when I ran into a place where the world would not load. I could slowly move into it, but would end up suffocating.

As something that I noticed while testing this bug, you CAN escape this without relogging.
If you teleport enough times, like with this: /tp @p @e[sort=random,limit=1]
Then you aren't stuck.
However, you will then end up in a situation like
[media]where you only see parts loaded. I hope this helps in identifying things.
Edit: It does eventually fix itself after 10 more minutes of testing. I eventually teleported to spawn and everything was loaded properly.
