I can't put infinity enchant on my bow

What I expected to happen was...: I would combine my two bows and have a bow with an infinity enchant.
Describe what you thought should happen here

What actually happened was...: I put my two bows in the anvil one of them had an infinity enchant but when i wanted to take the bow out it just wasn't there the combined bow wasn't there

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open anvil
2. Put two bows in there one with infinity enchant one without
3. Or try to put an infinity book in still doesn't work
