Campfire, blast furnace, smoker, and the traditional furnace SOMETIMES do not work

The blocks specified in the title sometimes don't smelt anything. Yes, they sometimes do work properly, but SOMETIMES don't work. Because of this, it will be hard to reproduce. Rejoining the world will often fix it. Again, this occurs at unpredictable times, so it WILL be hard to reproduce. At some point I will try to identify the cause, if there is a specific one. I have only experienced this behavior on 19w08a, and 19w08b.
