[MC-145391] GAME CRASH immediately on launch. No log info.

Installed latest Minecraft (and latest Java, and latest OS) on brand new macbook air. Immediately on startup, message: "GAME CRASH An unexpected issue occurred and the game has crashed. We're sorry for the inconvenience." Log comes up blank.

Contacted Mojang who suggested updating Java, disabling firewall, and logging out, logging in. Nothing works. Help?

Thanks, but this seems to only show fixes for PC. I'm on Mac. Am desperate!

Not yet, no. Brand new, straight out of the box Macbook. Haven't installed anything but Minecraft yet.
