When typing something in chat, every once in a while, everything that you are typing will be deleted if you press the letter "a". It usually goes away when pressing SHIFT+ALT to change the keyboard layout and change it back. One more thing that I've noticed is that you can't move the cursor through each letter but instead, it skips over the whole word.

Happend to me today in 1.16.3 pressing ctrl fixed the issue. It also occurs in Command Blocks at the same time.

Have same problem in 1.16.3 does it in vanilla and in fabric. Restarting game doesn't work but changing keyboard to US and UK again fixes it.

Yup.
I can confirm, it looks like the game thinks the control key is pressed when it's not. Pressing it solves the issue but boy is it annoying when you write a long message and suddenly it gets completely cleared.
