Game crashes when conduit activates

When placing water for the conduit, the game crashes soon as the conduit activates. Soon as you enter the world again, you will keep crashing. The Minecraft launcher will then open and show this "The game crashed whilst ticking block entity
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Ticking block entity".
