Magma Blocks Don't Melt Snow / Snow layers can form on Magma Blocks

Snow forms on Magma Blocks when it snows, and does not melt when there is a Magma Block near. I would expect the snow to not even be able to place/form on Magma, and even so, I would expect it to melt. Thank you for any response in advance! 🙂
