Placing Blocks on Blocks with Inventory/GUI not possible while flying

Trying to place any Block on a Block with Inventory/GUI while flying (and sneaking) [Shift+Space] opens Inventory/GUI

For example:

Try to place a Block next to a hopper while flying and pressing Shift. Then the hopper inventory opens instead of placing the Block
