Raining Zombies - MonsterSpawner spawns zombies in the sky

I have made a mob grinder that spawns zombies in a 9x9x4 box underground. However, above ground directly where the spawner is underneath, zombies rain from the sky during both day and night and are completely out of the spawner spawning area.
