When you rename a mob, you have a name above it, right?
But when you splash it with potion of invisbilty, after it becomes visble, the name stop showing, its a bug for me, but I am not sure about others

Cannot confirm.
Tested with a village, the name tag becomes visible again.
The name of mobs is only show when close to them and the crosshair is pointing to them.
