Cobwebs prevent undead creatures from burning

Zombies, Skeletons, as well as any Undead creature can't burn in the sunlight if they are under a cobweb.
When looking at a cobweb from directly underneath, you can clearly see it has direct sunlight access. So why are they not burning?
