Wandering Trader is Invisible

Basically, the wandering trader will spawn into my world and I will hear the noises he makes, but the only thing I see is his llamas. He will be holding the lead as usual but he himself is invisible and you cannot trade with him. In order to see him and make trades with him, I have to go back to the Minecraft home screen and then rejoin the world and he will finally appear.
