Villager not going through Nether Portal

Villagers won't go through Nether Portal

What I expected to happen was...:
I pushed a Villager into the Nether, now that I want to bring it back he won't teleport.
What actually happened was...:
He did not. He is IN the portal but he will not teleport to the overworld. Several minutes have passed and I've tried closing and reopening the game.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Teleport a Villager to the Nether
2. Try to teleport it back to the Overworld (The portals were 180 blocks apart)

If both portals have already loaded chunks on both sides of the portal (Nether and Overworld) then this is a bug.  But mobs can't load new chunks so if the overworld chunks aren't already loaded by the player, mobs will be unable to go through the portal.

I am having the same problem. I have waited several hours but the villager still will not go back through the portal into the overworld.

I was having the same problem in 1.15.2 on my server, however I tried killing the few zombie pigmen around the villager and it seemed to work. I have no idea if this works for 1.14 but its worth a try.

I had the same problem on my 1.15.2 server, however only killing zombie pigman did not fix it for me.
My fix:

-Break nether portal so it is inactive
-Kill 1 zombie pigman
-reactivate portal
-All villagers instantly go through

Same problem. Playing on Wildercraft 1.16.3. He went in, then after a few minutes he went back. Then he decided to go back again and now he won't come back from the nether. Just stands in the portal regardless of me traveling back and forth. Only solution is to hit them.
