Very bad performance in Minecraft 1.14

Minecraft seems to run very slow and the server I am playing on with my friends (self hosted) has some 100ms❓ lag spikes. On the apartment computer I get a very choppy 60 fps that feels nothing like 60 fps and on the house laptop I get around 5-30 fps, still very choppy with a ton of lag spikes (there are lag spikes on the apartment pc as well). 1.14 runs way worse than the other versions without optifine.
