Incorrect player position in bed below other bed (bunk bed)

When you sleep in the lower bed of a bunk bed spaced one block apart

the player will be positioned incorrectly:

The problem only occurs when the upper blocks are a bed, the player is positioned correctly for all other blocks I have tested (solid blocks, bottom half slabs, trapdoors, daylight sensors).
