Whenever I click on the fullscreen button in the options, my OSX instantly freezes (nothing is responsive) and after a couple of seconds the whole screen turns white. While its like this, I can still control the mouse, and I even hear sounds.
The only thing I can do at that point is shut down my iMac by holding the power button down for a while.
Its a very disappointing issue because my iMac is brand new. I can post my iMac's specs if needed
PS: If necessary, I could record a video of this issue.

Nothing special to see in the crash report.
It seems you are playing in the browser?
Do you experience any issues when using our new launcher and the latest snapshot?

Im not playing in the browser. Im playing with the regular launcher.
Oh and I have not tried the new snapshots.
I am having the same issue. New Retina Macbook Pro. Will test on other computers in the Apple Store tomorrow.
Please be advised we're not fixing this issue for 1.5.x. It should work with the new launcher and latest snapshot. If not please letme know the actual fullscreen retina resolution the laptop is using. Some special code is needed as LWJGL does have some issues, but we did work around it.

Please download the new launcher from http://mojang.com/2013/05/minecraft-snapshot-13w19a/ and try again with 1.5.2 (or even 13w19a)
Looks like that fixed it.
Please update to Version 1.5.2
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report here.
