After Killing the Ender Dragon with the Crossbow You Can Still Hit Him When He Is Disintegrating

I was killing the ender dragon in creative with the crossbow to test it out and after I killed it, I kinda just kept shooting it and I kept being able to hit it even after it was disintegrating. Don't know if this is a bug or not.
