[MC-150898] Elytra suddenly not working when lagging

Description:

When lagging a little on server (I have a bad connection) while flying with elytra, sometimes I just 'stop flying' in mid air, can't re-open my elytras and can't use fireworks

Since it's a server without natural regeneration, a good proportions of my deaths are caused by this bug...

steps to reproduce:

I don't know, sometimes it happens when I lag even just a little, and sometimes when I'm lagging a lot it doesn't happens...

It happens several times and my elytras are working right after, so no, they didn't break

Please check if that's still an issue in 1.14.2.

Yes, this is still an issue in 1.14.4. It's caused by a desync between the client and server caused by high ping.

To reproduce, you need high ping (something over 100? I don't have an exact number) then simply jump off a platform and attempt to fly. You'll find that (if your ping is constant) you'll start flying, but then stop after a moment, then start again ext.

The same issue applies to realms.
