Was on a friend's realm, and went and gotten the "Bad Omen" by killing a raid captain. I then travelled to a village to trigger a raid. I then died a few times, before finishing the raid. But, instead of getting the Hero of the Village, another wave started, which caused the village to be killed off.

This is not a bug. A "raid" consists of multiple waves. Usually 3+.

After ALL the waves are finished, you get Hero of the Village.
