Horses can't swim or float.

I was riding a horse, and it fell into water 3 blocks deep.

What I expected to happen was: The horse would float to the surface of the water and continue on.

What actually happened was: The horse did not come back up, and it drowned to death.
To reproduce: Break and saddle a horse and ride it into water that is at least is three blocks deep.

This is annoying in both survival and creative as I have to find and train another horse. This does relate to an issue stating horses kick you off in water deeper than one block. This also affects all the versions after 13w16a.

Horses don't swim if they're grazing. So fixing MC-13788 will fix this automagically.

The horse wasn't grazing. It couldn't float to the top unless he wandered by chance, or by physically pushing it.

Unable to reproduce. Horses certainly are able to swim as long as they don't graze. Spawned a horse underwater and it swam up. Are you sure there was no downwards flowing water that could prevent the horse from swimming up?

I am shure there was nothing to prevent it from floating back up. When I was testing, my horse was saddled, and I rode him to the water.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce by using the Bug Report Guidelines Here.

horses shouldn't kick a rider off while swimming as most horses at least in the real world can swim quite well with or without a rider so this is kinda arbitrary and retarded to the nth degree

i do not believe that this is a duplicate but rather another issue involving the player siting script. since when this occurs i am riding the horse through a river and the horse does not play the grazing animation as observed and the horse is constantly trying to swim up. the player is kicked off the horse as it bobs up and down when the player collision skeleton comes into contact with the water this unrelated to the horse's behavior it's AI and i will be re posting this as a new bug .
