Sign editing GUI exits when space key is pressed

Each time I try to place a sign on a chest, I can't press the space key or it will exit the sign editing GUI. I tried to change my jump key, but it didn't change anything the problem seems to come from the space key. However, when I place a sign on a block where I don't need to sneak to place the sign, the space key works perfectly.
