I usually decorate my village with fish tanks and sorts. But after a while when i'm away from my village they all despawn. This includes silver fish. When i either log out and/or go far from my village they despawn. But oddly enough fish in the ocean dont.

I cant make custom fireworks.
When I was in creative mode and started crafting a firework star with red dye, pink dye, glowstone dust, and gunpowder, it worked just fine. But when I crafted it with gunpowder and paper, it made 3 red fireworks instead of 3 red and pink fireworks with sparkle effect. I tried some other custom firework crafting recipes and they all just ended up as normal colored fireworks.
Mobs don't despawn if they're surrounded within a 20 block radius I think. Since your aquarium probably isn't as big as that, I would use name tags to make sure they don't disappear. I've had this same problem with turtles.
