[MC-15606] Can't craft carpet

Hi! I can't craft carpets. I place two wool blocks beside each other on the crafting table like it says on the wiki (and youtube), but nothing happens. I have tried to restart the game and I've tried different colors of the wool, but it's still the same.

There are no carpets in 1.5.2.

If you looked at the wiki, how did you missed the notice at the top of the page saying:
