While holding right click with a trident in your main hand and a bow in your offhand, both weapons will charge up but upon release only the bow will shoot.

While holding right click with a trident in your main hand and a bow in your offhand (with arrows in your inventory), both weapons will charge up. Upon the release of right click, however, only the bow will shoot and the trident will return to it's normal position in your main hand.
