I used to have my inventory open and close key on tab instead of e. When I do this in any 1.14.3 versions, I am still able to open my inventory but I am unable to close the inventory again with the same key.
How to reproduce:
Go to settings and bind the *Open/Close Inventory* key to the TAB key. (Unbind or set the key bind for the player list to another key)
Leave the settings and open your inventory by pressing TAB.

I do the exact same thing, and it's so annoying that we can't close our inventory because it highlights the crafting book.
