All of our created Nether Portals end up flying over a huge sea of lava in the Nether.
Is this a bug or a feature?
If this is not a bug, this is a huge increase of gaming difficulty, because to continue you have to create a bridge of hundreds of blocks to get to Nether-Land.
We are playing in easy or peaceful mode, so this is way to difficult and we died dozens of times trying to create this bridge.
Our solution then was to switch to creative mode to build this bridge, but we wanted to play without "cheating".

Hello!
Seed is 5865003603204696195
Actual Portal is at 301/72/266 (a few blocks inside the hill - Biome minecraft:taiga)
We tried some different locations in overworld (+/- 50 Blocks) but it was getting more worse
Thanks a lot!
There is no land anywhere near where the portal could be spawned; thus this is intentional behaviour. You were just unlucky with the position of the portal and the seed.
You can notice that the portal has generated a small platform around it that players can spawn on; this only happens if the game cannot find any valid location for the portal to spawn.
What's the seed of the world and at which location (in the overworld) did you build the nether portal? Depending on the world, this could be intended, for example if there's no place to put the portal on solid ground anywhere near where the portal would end up.
