Cat won't stand up and follow me even if I'm clicking at it

I put a name tag on my cat and since then it won't stand up and follow me. Obviously I was clicking at it with the right mouse button and I gave it fish to eat, but it's still sitting and not moving. What should I do? I don't want to kill it.
