Cannot create account

I cannot create an account. I had a problem with my email domain to start, but I fixed that. There is no way to resend a validation email that I can find. When I go to my.minecraft.net and click login, it takes me to this page: https://my.minecraft.net/en-us/login/?return_url=/profile

There is no place for me to enter my email address and password. Thinking it may be a Chrome thing, I tried with Edge. Now I got a login box, but my login didn't work. I clicked 'forgot password' and after the annoying mechanical turk image verification it says it sent me an email but it didn't. I think I'm stuck in a bad loop because I never got the original verification email.
