Can't acces containers or place blocks

All of a sudden, I can't acces containers in minecraft (barrels, chests, etc.) and I can't place any blocks, but I can break blocks. This is really weird and I can't play in my survival world anymore.

Most likely just because of temporary lag. is this still an issue?
