Snapshot 19w37a - No Damage Taken from Environmental Factors

Player is not damaged from environmental factors (i.e. Falling in lava, fall damage, drowning)

The game was restarted and still exhibited the same bug.

This issue was discovered in a map that was imported from a previous snapshot/version of Minecraft.

The issue does not persist into a new world.

 The map was last updated from 19w36a

What are gamerules fallDamage, fireDamage and drowningDamage set to?

I haven't changed them from the default settings, so they should all be true. How do I go in to confirm this?

@violine1101

Just use /gamerule fallDamge and /gamerule fireDamage and check what they return.

This bug is still present in 19w40a... All posts seem to show it as resolved as far back as 19w37a but it was not. I had to manually go into EVERY world, open to LAN, enable cheats, and set all of these:

/gamerule drowningDamage = true
/gamerule fallDamage = true
/gamerule fireDamage = true
/gamerule doInsomnia = true

They were all changed to false in update 19w36a and NEVER resolved in 19w37a or subsequent versions. I just had to fix it myself.

I didn't want to enable cheats but I had no choice in order to fix all of the worlds created prior to snapshot 19w36a.

Yes, if you ever opened the world in 19w36a, the gamerules were reset due to a bug. That bug has been fixed. Worlds opened in snapshots therefore are broken and need to be fixed manually, which is nothing unusual. That's what snapshots are for.
