Nether portal "Nausea" effect is not working correctly.

I updated a survival world and played it on the new snapshot. When I attempted to enter into the nether the "nausea" effect is not working right. Instead of the typically swirling type motion, the screen starts to quickly move up and down. This happens every time I enter the nether so I do not believe it is a one time problem.
