Comparators lock into a "powered" state when build in a comparator clock(like the one below) and powered by a stone button⚠️ .
The glitch though is only visual, so I call it "Schrödingers comparator"

After searching for a bit, it seems like this has been reported a few years ago already: MC-12211
The single torch on the front of the comparator signifies that the comparator is in subtraction mode, not that it is activated. If a signal runs through it, the two torches in the back are activated.
