Signs in inventory and in hand got a black/not transparent background

MC-163001 already mentions signs, but not that it affects both Vanilla texture packs, should be added?

Hasn't been in 19w40a.

It affects both the new textures, as well as the "Programmer Art" texturers, albeit they look differently.

Also affects other textures, willl create bugposts for each of them.
