I built a new PC and wanted to test Minecraft. Unfortunately, if I'm looking at a cavern wall (of stone), I can notice rings of circles in my view. These are different sizes and seem to represent different shades of the shadow. I don't recall seeing this before. I have the latest drivers for my GTX 1660 Ti. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game, which didn't fix it. I also tried it on another computer and noticed the same effect. I also tried it with the latest snapshot 19w42a. I also tried running the game as an administrator. I also tired to disable full screen enhancements in the properties section of the exe. I tested this in the Windows 10 version and it looks just fine. I'm pretty sure I also tried this using Optifine, but again the same result. It's difficult for me to find this issue being reported and since it happened on two different computers that I could try, I figured I'd report it as a bug.
I've attached two screenshots that show this issue, which you may need to open in a fullscreen window to be able to see. I've also attached two screenshots of my video settings within the game. My Nvidia Control Panel settings are set to default, except I turned on Vsync and changed power mode to maximum performance. These two settings are set "globally." I've also attached a DxDiag.txt,
I would like to send you a zip file containing the world I'm using as I'm looking at the wall in the screenshot, but the zip exceeds the max size limit.
I have posted this issue on the forum, but haven't received any helpful support.
Thank you for your time and support!
This just seems to be the vignette, which is an image that is overlayed all the time to make the borders of the screen a bit darker than the center. Usually you don't notice it, you really only can if you're in a dark space.
The vignette should disappear when you press
F1
. It can also be removed using resource packs.
