Sheep die randomly

I've built an automatic wool farm as shown in the attachment, after being afk for an hour I returned to check the farm and one sheep was gone; I opened chest under the container and there was mutton. There's no possibility of a wolf killing the sheep because they are in a secure containers.

This issue has been already reported and it is labeled as resolved but in reality it's still in the game.

Are you on a server?

@violine1101 yes I am playing on a server

Please ask the other players on your server whether they might know what might have happened.

Animals don't just die for no reason. It's possible that another player was there and accidentally killed the sheep.

@violine1101 I’ve asked the other players and not a single player was in the farm when the incident occurred and it couldn’t be a player because when I replaced the dead sheep I’ve noticed that another sheep had died and I can guarantee that there were no other players around.

What Minecraft server software package is running on that box?

I asked the admin and he said Paper.

Paper has a inbuilt plugin to kill passive mobs if they cause too much lag, so putting multiple sheep in the same block cell will cause entity collision which is able to cause lag and paper will kill it, I had such reproduced on 1 I played on
